About
Studio Stabio is a design-led fabrication studio specialising in steel windows, doors, and operable façades. Founded in 2017, the studio was established with a singular intent. To create steel joinery of uncompromising quality, engineered with precision and built to endure.
Working with both locally sourced and imported Swiss steel, we collaborate closely with architects and designers from the earliest stages of a project. Early design engagement and engineering problem solving allow complex ideas to be resolved with clarity and confidence.
Our work is almost entirely bespoke. Each element is fabricated and installed by our team to ensure it meets our exacting standards. We do not offer supply-only solutions. Installation is integral to performance, longevity, and the integrity of the final outcome.
Our external joinery has been tested and certified in New Zealand to NZS 4211, ensuring proven performance and long-term reliability.
At the core of the studio’s portfolio is Porta Kinetica, our steel and glass operable wall façade range. These systems represent the intersection of architectural intent and mechanical control, delivering scale and movement through refined simplicity.

Founder
Studio Stabio was founded by Blair, a craftsman driven by a deep respect for material, precision, and the pursuit of excellence in steel fabrication.
From the outset, Blair’s ambition was clear. To elevate what was possible in architectural steelwork and to deliver products that surpassed what existed in the market. His hands-on approach remains central to the studio, influencing every decision from design resolution through to final installation.
This approach underpins Studio Stabio’s reputation for delivering steel joinery that performs with clarity, precision, and longevity.

Certifications
New Zealand Standards 4211:2008
We have undergone testing and are certified to NZS 4211:2008, which specifies the performance testing for windows and doors designed for exterior use. This standard covers products made from various materials or combinations and mandates that testing occurs under the same conditions as they will be supplied from the factory to the installation site, including any glazing systems and seismic subframes.
Window & Glass Association
We are registered members of the Window & Glass Association New Zealand, the national organization representing the window, door, and glass industry.
Weather Protected Coatings
All our coatings have undergone rigorous accelerated sea spray fog testing, achieving a C4 environmental rating. Depending on your selected coating system, we offer tailored warranties to suit your needs, ensuring long-lasting protection and reliability.
